On walking

All the great thinkers of the past have done it, all modern science says do it, my own experience says do it. It's a no-brainer. Like all things however, the brain can know something but it's another thing entirely for the body to act on it. Old Chinese saying: "He who knows but doesn't do doesn't know." We have to learn to switch the brain off just long enough for us to get out of our chair and out of the house. For once we are actually on the move, the momentum will carry us forward into the world.

Love hurts

At ten I searched for you but could not find you. At eighteen
I found you but could not reach you. At twenty six
I found you again but could not have you. Now
you are about to be taken beyond my reach
once again. The stars just won't align for
us my love. I'm afraid I can no longer
do this friendship thing - it's breaking
my heart. Goodbye my gorgeous
girl. I will invest in the marriage
God has so graciously granted
me and live each day with
gratitude for the loving
care that is shown to
me. Just know that
I have always
loved you
and
always
will.

Life in the house of peace

The man of few means is no less rich than the

man of wealth if he lives in a house of

peace. But no pile of gold can

atone for the pain

that exists where

strife will not

cease.

Breath

Cease the struggle and only breathe

for when

everything is boiled down,

that is all

that’s

left.

Breath.

And when that is gone,

Death.

Creating

The angst of creation, or rather,
the attempt at creation, or
rather, the desire for
creation, is
painful.

Robert Frost

Robert Frost, you greatly moved me
when I was sixteen years old. It was
English Lit in '75, the back of the class
and the poem was Mending Wall.

There was something about your
purity of thought that
touched me deeply and I
fell in love with your work.

Looking back it was also because
you were a father to me when I didn't have one,
a wise and caring man who would understand me,
if I could only meet you, but of course by then
you were dead.

"Who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?"
